POPE FRANCIS DONATES 1.1 BILLION DOLLARS ON BEHALF OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH TO COVID-19 VICTIMS

The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis donated $1.1 million for charity efforts to be managed by the Roman branch of Caritas, the Catholic diocese for those in Rome who are in a dire and terrible state as a result of the outbreak of Corona virus

The Diocese of Rome in a statement to Cardinal Angelo De Donatis who on behalf of Pope Francis stated that the fund should be used in helping the vulnerable, those with small businesses, those with temporary and casual employment, entrepreneurs, people with contracts that are yet to be renewed, and those who are self-employed.

The pope however admonished priests, public institutions, and people to donate and give to the charity during this period.
