Supreme Court Suspends Hearing of Governorship Appeals

The Supreme Court has today suspended the hearing of the governorship appeals from six states of the federation, due to sudden illness of one of the judges hearing it.
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad made this known shortly after the seven-member judge panel reconvened to the court room following a recess for normalcy restoration.
However, a court registrar announced that all appeals in the case has been adjourned to January 14.
Meanwhile, the appeals are from the aggrieved candidates of the March 9 governorship elections in Imo, Bauchi, Sokoto, Kano, Plateau and Benue states.
