The Ekiti state governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi has described as unfortunate the closure of courts in the nation as a result of the on-going JUSUN strike which he attributed to a misconception and misunderstanding.

The governor made the comments when the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ado-Ekiti Branch,  Adeyemi Adewumi led other executive members on a courtesy visit to Governor’s Office in Ado Ekiti.

He said that governors are not aversed to judicial autonomy but rather committed to sustainable modalities of operation.

Governor Fayemi also re-echoed his commitment to the elevation of young, competent and experienced lawyers both male and female in the state to become judges to drive the judicial sector, adding that it was better to have lawyers who have practiced in the state as judges.
