The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has today presented a sum of over 124 billion naira 2020 budget appropriation bill before the State House of Assembly for passage.
The budget composed of over N53 billion for capital expenditure and over N71 billion as recurrent expenditure
The budget tagged: “Budget of deliverable” was presented before the Speaker, Hon Funminiyi Afuye and other members of the Assembly for passage.
Our House of Assembly Senior Correspondent, Martins Olowoyo , reports that , In the proposal, governance takes the largest share and will gulp over 45 billion Naira while over 39 billion Naira was earmarked for infrastructure and industrial development.
Fayemi praised the assembly for their commitment to the State, saying the objective of the budget estimate is to drive the four cardinal objective of his administration, anchored on; Knowledge economy, social investment, infrastructure and Human capital development and Agriculture and Rural Development.
He said the budget was judiciously tailored towards good governance and speedy delivery for Ekiti state and its people.
Earlier, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Funminiyi Afuye, applauded the Governor for being a good manager of men and resources despite the paucity of funds in the state.
He assured that the budget proposal shall be granted speedy passage in the overall interest of the State.
