The Federal High Court in Abuja, has slated the 25th of February to rule on the fresh application for bail made by the former chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Taskforce Team, Abulrasheed Maina.
Maina, who is facing money laundering charges filed to be released on bail based on severe health conditions, which could to the amputation of his leg.
He conveyed this message through his Counsel, Sani Katu, (SAN), to Justice Okon Abang at the resumed trial.
He told the court that his health condition worsened at the Kuje Correctional Center where he was remanded, owing to a knee surgery he underwent while he was in Niger Republic.
However, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, through its lawyer, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, urged the court to refuse the application, insisting that Maina would escape again if released from the Kuje Correctional Center.
