Ekiti State Government has realised two million Naira from fines imposed on violators of the stay at home directive.
The Coordinator of the Ekiti state taskforce on Covid-19 Prof. Bolaji Aluko gave the figure on Friday during the taskforce committee briefing in Ado Ekiti.
Professor Aluko said that over one hundred people had been prosecuted, while some were released on conditional ground.
The Taskforce Coordinator, who also debunked the news that someone was fined forty thousand Naira for not wearing facemask, explained that the fine accumulated to such amount due to the unruly behaviour of the violator in front of the magistrate.
Aluko however announced that Governor Kayode Fayemi would address the people in a broadcast next Monday on issues of whether the lockdown would be relaxed or not as seen in some states.
