Ekiti state government has inaugurated the Open Government Partnership OGP steering committee to improve accountability, transparency and citizens engagement in governance.
Governor Fayemi while inaugurating the steering committee on Monday in ado – ekiti expressed confidence that the initiative Will be greatly beneficial to the state by increasing collaborations with external stakeholders to improve the standard of living of residents.
He highlighted key areas of OGP to include governance and regulatory reforms, fiscal transparency, access to information and others.
Ekiti had applied for the open government partnership in October 2019 to deepen the state’s institutional and policy reform, and have now become the first state in the south west to be granted membership.
The special adviser to the governor on development partnerships, Mrs Margaret fagboyo disclosed that training will commence in Earnest for the members.
The committee has the Commissioner for Budget & Economic Planning hon. Femi Ajayi as chairman,members include SSA SDG Abimbola Sholanke, DG OTSD Prof.Bolaji Aluko and others while the secretary is Abiodun Oluleye.
