GOVERNOR FAYEMI SWEARS IN COMMISSIONERS, RESHUFFLES CABINET

Ekiti state Governor Kayode Fayemi yesterday reshuffled the state executive council following the swearing-in of new commissioners in the state.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at the conference hall of the governor’s office in ado-ekiti, governor Fayemi charged members of his cabinet to abide by the principle of transparency and accountability in the discharge of their duties.

The newly appointed commissioners include;

Akintunde Oyebode who has been deployed to the ministry of finance and economic development, Akin Omole, will oversee the ministry of information and values orientation, Oyebanji Filani takes charge of health and human services, Iyabo Fakunle Okieme, environment and natural resources and chief Oladiran Adesua , housing and urban development.

Others are, Maryam Ogunlade-women affairs, Olabode Adetoyi -agriculture and rural development, Dr Adebimpe aderiye-education science and technology, while former commissioner for information and values orientation, Muyiwa Olumilua has been redeployed to ministry of trade, investment and commerce.

However some of the commissioners dropped and re-assigned to special advisory roles include, former commissioner for women affairs, Mojisola Fafure, former commissioner for agriculture, Folorunso Olabode, as well as former commissioner for education, Foluso Daramola.

Ekiti state Governor Kayode Fayemi says his administration is committed to completing on-going projects in the state in the interest of Ekiti people despite the corona virus pandemic.

Governor Fayemi who gave the assurance during the inspection of the legacy projects in Ado Ekiti on Monday stressed that the transformation agenda of his administration is a vision that must be realised.

He said for a growing state like ekiti his administration has put into consideration the planning process,opportunities for good roads,new schools, new centres and urban development to boost the economic viability of the state.

Projects visited include the four model schools,
Ureje water dam and Water treatment plant rehabilitation project, JMK Rice Mill, Odo Ado,ekiti State Water Corporation headquarters building, Ilokun Ado Ekiti
9. Fajuyi water dam, Ado Ekiti
Ado-Iyin road project,completion of Secretariat complex phase V, lot I and II and the Civic centre project.

The projects are expected to be delivered by September 30.
