EKITI ORGANISED LABOUR SUSPENDS WARNING STRIKE AS EKITI ASSEMBLY WADES IN

The Organised Labour in Ekiti state has suspended its three day warning strike and directed workers back to work.

The suspension followed a truce meeting held with members of the state house Committee of Public Service in the Assembly complex in Ado.

At the meeting which had the state NLC chairman, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde, his TUC counterpart Comrade Sola Adigun and the chairman of joint negotiating council, Comrade Kayode Fatomiluyi, the state head of service, Mrs Peju Babafemi, expressed the commitment of the present government in taking care of workers’ welfare.

The chairman of the NLC, comrade kolapo olatunde, who also commended the house committee for their intervention, lamented that the series promotions have not been implemented and a lot of workers in Eksu were sacked without any solutions under the present govt.

He promised to call off the strike on the honour of the assembly members
with the government having given in to some of their demands with a warning that the house should not disappoint the labour unions in the state by addressing their agitations with the executive arm of government.
