GOVERNOR FAYEMI APPEALS TO EKITI RESIDENTS TO ASSIST POLICE TO FIGHT CRIME

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has called on the people to always support the Police with information that would lead to arrest of criminals and prevent crime.

The Governor who spoke through his Deputy, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, made the call while receiving in audience the new Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Command, Mr. Babatunde Mobayo in his office on Monday.

According to a statement by the Special Assistant (Media) to the Deputy Governor, Odunayo Ogunmola, the new Ekiti police boss who was on a familiarisation visit, sought the state government’s support to succeed in his new assignment.

The new CP described Ekiti as a state with one of the lowest crime rates in the country promising to work with other officers in the command to improve the Ekiti security architecture.

Mobayo disclosed that the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu has charged all CPs across the country to adopt community policing as a crime fighting strategy in the grassroots to easily tracked criminals.
