KANO GOVERNMENT CANCELS SALLAH FESTIVITIES TO CONTAIN COVID-19 SPEED

Kano State government has ordered the cancellation of traditional Sallah festivities, to mark Eid-del-Kabir celebrations in the state to consolidate the successes recorded in the fight against COVID-19.

Commissioner for Information, Mr Muhammed Garba, made this disclosure in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

Garba explained that after deliberations with several stakeholders it was agreed that the conduct of Eid congregational prayers across the state, would be under strict observance of safety protocols to be monitored by government officials to ensure compliance.

He said there will be no visit to Shettima House, Hawan Daushe, Hawan Nassarawa, durbar, and all other traditional outings in the emirates.
