The new Onimesi of Imesi Ekiti, Oba Olatunji Olatunde has received his staff of office from the Ekiti State Government.
Governor Kayode Fayemi presented the instrument of office to the new monarch through his deputy, Or in a Bisi Egbeyemi.
According to a statement by the Special Assistant (Media) to the Deputy Governor, Odunayo Ogunmola, the event was held at the Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office in line with COVID-19 protocols.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Governor charged the new one to carry his people along in the affairs of his domain.
The Chairman, Gbonyin Local Government, Mr. Ayodele Fadumiye, in his address, urged Oba Olatunde to see himself as the symbol of his people’s custom and tradition and exercise restraints in the use of power conferred on him.
Speaking after receiving the staff of office, Oba Olatunde called on co-contestants for the throne and all indigenes to join him in the task of turning Imesi to a model community in the state.
