EU CONDEMNS TERRORIST ATTACKS IN BORNO, PLEDGES SUPPORT

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep shock at Boko Haram’s attack on Gubio village, Borno State in which the terrorists killed many people.

The president in a statement signed by his spokesman, Garba Shehu in Abuja, condemned the killing and ordered the military to ensure the terrorist are captured and those kidnapped are rescued.

He also expressed the sincere condolences of the government and people of Nigeria to the bereaved families, communities and the government and people of Borno State.

The European Union has condemned Wednesday terrorists’ attack in the Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State that left over 80 civilians dead while scores were injured and kidnapped.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Fontelles in a statement, described the killings as one of the most brutal terrorist attacks on innocent people in the North East.

The union however, pledged its support to join Nigeria in its ongoing fight to eliminate terrorists, especially in the North East region of the country.
