EKITI ENVIRONMENTAL TASK FORCE MOVES AGAINST OPEN DEFECATION

Ekiti State Environmental Task Force has arrested two persons for open defecation at Agric Olope and Atikankan areas in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources,MrGbenga Agbeyo,while speaking with newsmen about the arrested persons, condemned the attitude saying it will not be business as usual.
He stated that the government has zero tolerance for open defecation as the Ministry had strengthened the operation of the Task Force known as Kick Against Bad Act (KABA Boys) to enhance their performance.
The Ministry boss while stressing the commitment of the present administration to providing conducive and healthy environment for the people to avert outbreak of epidemics, added that a mobile court has been prepared to prosecute environmental offenders and it will begin operations today.
Agbeyo however advised the people of the State to embrace the policy of one house, one toilet so as to combat the spread of covid-19 and prevent other epidemics in the state.
