As the number of rape cases increase in Nigeria, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has lent his voice to the call for justice over the rape and murder of Vera Omozuwa, a 100-level microbiology student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Edo state.
The national leader who took to his Twitter page in solidarity with all women, decried the unjust treatments that have been unleashed on women over the years.
Tinubu in a series of tweet condemned the recent killings of young ladies across the country, saying there is nothing that can defend the wrongdoings.
According to him, For far too long women and young girls in our nation have suffered the pain, hurt and stigma of gender-based violence and abuse. Too many have been hurt, intimidated and bullied. Too many have died. Such violence is inexcusable and it is time to collectively stand up and demand for justice.
