6 churches sealed off in Bayelsa state for breaching protocols _ COVID-19 pandemic

Six churches have been sealed off in Bayelsa state for breaching operational protocols required to conduct services amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The permanent secretary, Bayelsa state ministry of information, Freston Akpor, who disclosed this in Yenogoa, the state capital, said the churches involved would be sealed off until further notice.

The Bayelsa state government on May 7 relaxed its ban on religious and social gatherings but said churches should not hold services with more than 50 people at a time with strict observance of social distancing in sitting arrangement.

Bayelsa has recorded 21 cases of the disease since the outbreak in Nigeria.
