The board of Ekiti State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun has held a crucial meeting with critical stakeholders in the state’s security sector in a bid to ensure effective take off and efficient management of the security agency in the State.
Speaking at the meeting which took place at the Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Mr. Biodun Oyebanji said Amotekun is a complementary agency that would enhance and sustain the existing security architecture in Ekiti State
The SSG briefed the meeting on roles and functions of the board as well as that of the Commandant of Amotekun corps. He pointed out that Amotekun outfit is not a substitute for existing security agencies.
Also, the Ekiti State Attorney General, Mr. Olawale Fapohunda who explained the Legal Framework, structure and administration of the security agency, advised the agency not to trample on the rights of citizens while discharging its duties.
The Attorney General however called for the cooperation of Traditional Council for the agency.
