Presidency Responds as ex-CDS warns of violent restructuring

The Presidency has reacted to comments by former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Alexander Ogomudia that Nigeria may be restructured violently, saying that democracy, not violence is the known constitutional means of bringing any type of change in Nigeria.
The Presidency’s reaction was contained in a statement signed by Presidential spokesperson, Mr Garba Shehu where he stated the former military chief comments speaks volumes about the mindset of groups of citizens who are yet to accept democracy as a form of government.
He further reiterated that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is strongly believes that democracy is the answer to growing calls for violence and a means to change in the structure, form and content of the union that binds the country.
