Sydney region faces catastrophic bush-fire threat

Australian authorities have warned Sydney residents of an impending bush fire danger as a seven-day state of emergency is being declared.

The warning which was released in Sydney today by the state premier, Gladys Berejiklianr also stated that over 350 schools will be closed and a broad fire ban has been put in place while the military provides logistic support for firefighters.

Berejiklian further stated that the declared state of emergency is about protecting life, property ,and ensuring everybody is safe.

Meanwhile, emergency services have taken to cutting down trees and opening roads to remove livestock from the potential path of the fires.
