INEC to deploy anti-graft agencies to nab money launderers.

The independent national electoral commission has said that the deployment of anti-graft agencies to track vote buyers and sellers during the governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi states is to get money launderers.

The INEC director of voter education and publicity, Osaze Oluwole-Uzzi, made the clarification today in an interview with journalists in Abuja.

Oluwole-Uzzi added that the involvement of the economic and financial crimes commission and the independent corrupt practices and other related offences commission was not to intimidate voters or scare them off.

Recall that INEC chairman, prof. Mahmood Yakubu, had said officials of the EFCC and ICPC would be deployed in polling centers to arrest vote buyers in the elections in Bayelsa and Kogi states.
