Senate moves to probe NDDC

The Nigerian Senate has vowed to launch an investigation into the spending activities of the Niger Delta Development Agency (NDDC).

The move by the Senate comes hours shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari ordered a forensic audit into the operations of the NDDC from 2001 to 2019.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Senate’s committee on public accounts, Matthew Urhoghide, while speaking during a planned budget defence for the agency said the Senate is interested in only some areas of expenditure of the NDDC,adding that all necessary documents that will enable proper investigation should be made available to the committee on or before Monday, October 21.
