Ekiti state police command vows to clamp down on criminals

The Ekiti state commissioner of police, Amba Asuquo has vowed to clamp down on criminals in the state and neighbouring states.

The Police Commissioner gave the warning in Ado Ekiti today while reading out riot acts to criminals operating in the state at a security/media briefing.

He said the command was now collaborating with men of the vigilante groups, Oodua Peoples Congress (Opc) as well as local hunters.

According to him such collaborations had become necessary because such non-governmental security organizations are useful agents in knowing the movements and hideouts of criminals as well as exposing crimes before they are committed.

He added that the hitch free sallah celebration in the state was part of the results of such collaborative efforts.
