Popular Nigerian musician, producer and songwriter, Tekno, risk a 2 years Jail term for shooting a music video publicly around Lekki-Ikoyi bridge, Lagos, where semi-nude women danced seductively in a display van in traffic.
He was spotted to have been spaying money on them lavishly and spankings there buttocks.
However, the display perceived by many Nigerians as obscene, violates the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015, and the Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency laws.
According to a report gathered by Punch, the Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency has announced the suspension of the advertising agency whose display truck was used in shooting the video. In a statement released by the agency, it reads that
“The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency has suspended, pending final investigation, the practicing licence of an advertising firm, Provision Media System Limited, over indecent advertisement around the Lekki/Ikoyi toll gate.”
Similarly, the action was a violation to Section 136 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which provides that ”any person who commits any act of gross indecency with another person in public commits an offence and liable to a conviction to three years imprisonment.‘‘
Section 134(a) further stipulates that ”an indecent act in a public place makes both parties engaging in the act liable to imprisonment for two years.”
Meanwhile, popular rapper, Zlatan Ibile, confirmed on an Instagram post that the video shoot was for a song titled, ‘Agege’, which featured himself and Tekno.
